Cable News Ratings Wednesday June 21: CNN Lands First Place in Prime Time Demo Amid Search For Titanic Sub

Coverage of the lost submarine exploring the wreckage of the Titanic propelled CNN to a first-place finish Wednesday night in the prime time 25-54 age demographic.

The rare win for CNN was marked by extensive coverage of the event, which also saw CNN land second in the total day demo, beating MSNBC while Fox won the day. CNN won the prime time demo with 223,000 viewers, while Fox was second with 210,000. MSNBC landed in third place in prime time with 176,00 demo viewers.

Fox News also won in total viewers in both total day and prime time averages, scoring 1.48 million total day viewers. MSNBC was second with 1.08 million total day viewers, while CNN was third with 658,000.

In prime time total viewers, Fox News doubled CNN with 1.84 million to 867,000. MSNBC came in second with 1.65 million average prime time viewers.
