New Shows From Dan Bongino, Trey Gowdy Draw Big Numbers for Fox News

The new shows from former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino and former Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) were ratings winners for Fox News over the weekend, as both shows dominated their timeslots on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Unfiltered with Dan Bongino debuted Saturday at 10 p.m., and brought in 1.75 million total viewers, and 307,000 in the valuable demographic of viewers age 25-54 – more total viewers and viewers in the demo than MSNBC and CNN combined – according to Nielsen data. On CNN, the second hour of the special Dreamland: The Burning of Black Wall Street was second, with 503,000 total viewers, and 103,000 in the demo. On MSNBC, American Voices with Alicia Menendez was third, with 429,000 total viewers, and 75,000 in the demo.

Fox News’ Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy also swept its 7 p.m. timeslot, with 1.29 million total viewers (more total viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined) and 156,000 in the demo. CNN Newsroom was second, with 496,000 total viewers, and 89,000 in the demo. On MSNBC, American Voices with Alicia Menendez was third, with 466,000 total viewers, and 71,000 in the demo.

Fox’s weekend wins continued into Monday, with Tucker Carlson Tonight topping the charts in both total viewers, with 2.97 million, and in the demo, with 506,000. Hannity was the second most-watched show on cable news, with 2.74 million total viewers and 417,000 in the demo. The Five was third in total viewers, with 2.64 million, and fourth in the demo, with 351,000. The Rachel Maddow Show was fourth in total viewers, with 2.38 million, and fifth in the demo, with 329,000. The Ingraham Angle was fifth in total viewers, with 2.24 million, and third in the demo, with 380,000.

Fox also swept in the ratings across the board Monday, averaging 1.52 million total viewers in total day, and 255,000 in the demo. MSNBC was second in total viewers, with 1.02 million, and third in the demo, with 128,000. CNN was third in total viewers, with 690,000, and second in the demo, with 155,000.

In prime time, Fox was again first, with 2.65 million total viewers, and 434,000 in the demo. MSNBC was second, with 1.79 million total viewers, and third in the demo, with 230,000. CNN was third in total viewers, with 1.15 million, and second in the demo, with 248,000.

In the early morning, Fox and Friends won with 1.13 million total viewers, and 204,000 in the demo. MSNBC’s Morning Joe was second, with 878,000 total viewers, and 112,000 in the demo. CNN’s New Day was third, with an average 468,000 total viewers, and 92,000 in the demo.
