Jason Aldean Asks America to ‘Come Together and Stop the Hate’ After Vegas Shooting
Jason Aldean has released an emotional statement on the Las Vegas massacre at the Route 91 Harvest music festival this weekend.
Aldean was performing on stage Sunday night when the first shots rang out and derailed the show. Last night, the country music star wrote on Instagram that he’s still coming to terms with the tragedy, and also called for national unity.
“Something has changed in this country and in this world lately that is scary to see. This world is becoming the kind of place I am afraid to raise my children in…My heart aches for the Victims and their families of this Senseless act. I am so sorry for the hurt and pain everyone is feeling right now and there are no words I can say to to take that pain away.”
As he extended sympathies to those killed and injured during the rampage, Aldean talked about how he couldn’t fathom the shooter’s motivations. Aldean concluded his statement by saying “Time to come together and stop the hate! #stopthehate #prayforlasvegas.”
